It's a beautiful time of year. I love the crispness in the air, the amazing colors on the leaves, pumpkins and mums, and of course candy corn!
We have two birthdays in October, Ben and Juliana. This year Juliana turned the big 1-3! A teenager! I took some pix of her in my refinished studio. I started the project a few weeks back. Our old kitchen and dining room was home to our 2 chocolate labs for the past 3 years. They scratched up the hardwood floors quite a bit. I tried my hand in refinishing. Rented the orbital sander and went to town on those dirty old floors. After a few hours, and aching muscles, I finished sanding. I chose the stain English Chestnut for no other reason than the color and the love of Chestnuts that Jason's grandfather had. He was born in this house some 90 years ago and had an incredible love for Chestnut Trees. After staining, I poly'd the floors. I had some ups and downs with this part of the project, including a hurt back after I slid in the poly. Ah memories!
The studio got some new backdrops and a fresh look with some natural sunlight. I still am planning on painting some of the walls and purchasing one more backdrop. I've been able to take some shots and I hope you enjoy them.
So get out and enjoy this beautiful weather! Look at the leaves changing and think about how we change through Christ. We are a new creation. Out with the old, in with the new. The leaves change and the flowers die, but the Word of the Lord never changes.
MariposaPix still has some openings for Fall pictures. Think Christmas because it's coming quickly. Book your sitting today by clicking here jensheaffer@me.com
In Christ,
