ThanksGiving

This Thanksgiving, I'll be sporting a rented 24-70 2.8 lens. I wanted to play around with this potential-add-to my-camera bag-lens. I had rented it before for a wedding and didn't get as much "play time" with it. I'm excited to have a holiday to use it inside.
I rented it for a week and have a few shoots this week. I like the option of using it in the studio. It is fast and small enough for the studio. I love my 70-200 2.8 for portraits outdoors or in larger areas indoors. But in the studio, I need the flexibility of a smaller lens.
Last week I used my trusty 50mm 2.8 lens for a shoot and I loved the way the pics came out.
I have to move a bit more with the 50 but it is incredibly light weight.
Today I have two shoots. A little 5 month old girl and her parents and one of soon to be parents, Heidi and Nate. They've been married 5 yrs and want to capture one last moment together before the birth of their babe! So we will play indoors and outdoors.
By the way, many people ask if we can "still do outdoor pictures."
My answer is, "As long as you can go outside, we can shoot outside." I love how the environment changes to the seasons and I enjoy the beauty of each one. The brilliance of spring green grass, the summer flowers, the fall leaves, and the crispness of winter (not to mention the white stuff when it comes around). Think fun winter hats, gloves, and scarves and leave the coats inside. Don't underestimate your kids--they will survive an outdoor sitting. P.S. They really don't like to wear coats anyway. And yes, I know Juliana has a coat on here but I did love this pic :)

I'm off to capture some fun, which is what I really need these days.
